Start Time

The Midsummer Mile features three waves. You choose which wave to run in. The competitive Women's and Men's Waves offer individual and team prize money. The Family and Friends Wave will award random prizes to 10 finishers. All participants in the Women's and Men's Waves are welcome to participate with family and friends in the Family and Friends Wave at no additional cost.

Wave Descriptions


Located on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, participants should enter through the Main Gate off Snelling Ave for the easiest access. The race start is just north of the intersection of Dan Patch and Underwood Streets. The finish location is approximately one block from the start just north of the intersection of Dan Patch and Cooper Streets. See Map below for details.

Course Map


Plenty of free parking is available in the State Fair lot between Underwood and Cooper Streets. You may also park on the streets as long as you DO NOT park on the race course. Consult the Course Map for details.


Individual cash awards of $75 will be given to the top male and female finishers.

Team cash awards

Open Teams will score the top 5 finishers and Masters Teams will score the top 3 finishers. It is possible for a masters runner to score in both the open and masters' category. All Masters Team members must be age 40 years or older. Team members need not be members of USATF to score. However, USATF membership is encouraged. All team members must declare their team at the time of registration.

Race Day Packet Pick-up will take place at our Race Day Headquarters at O'Gara's at the Fair, beginning at 5:00 p.m. O'Gara's at the Fair is located at the corner of Dan Patch and Cosgrove Streets.
